Do you have a community led textiles project that you would like to be part of WOVEN Festival and would like help with funding?

This year, WOVEN is partnering with Growing Great Places, a crowdfunding platform supported by Kirklees Council, to offer a number of micro-grants for community textile projects. You can apply for a small grant that can then be matched by council funding and your own crowdsourced income.

The theme for this year’s festival is “Connecting Culture,” bringing communities together through the universal language of textiles. Your project should reflect this theme and take place during this year’s WOVEN festival, between Sunday 1st and Monday 30th June. Activity can start before June but the final outcome must be during the festival dates.

This could be a workshop, exhibition, talk, tour, yarn bombing, or any textile based creative endeavour that springs to mind.

The micro-grants are available to individuals, community groups and small organisations. Sole trader artists can also apply with a community project.

To apply and find out more please visit the Spacehive portal.

Proposals should be submitted by Sunday 2 March.

You can also join an online session to find out more about running projects to take part in WOVEN 2025 on Wednesday 12th February at 6pm.
