WOVEN 2025

WOVEN25 marked the fourth iteration following events in 2019, 2021 and 2023, and welcomed over 26,000 visitors.

Over the past six years the WOVEN festival has grown from a nine day festival to a month long, district wide, community celebration.

The aim of the 2025 festival was to act on consultation feedback form 2024, support community organisations to develop their WOVEN activities, increase marketing support for groups taking part while not losing high quality curated programming that offers inspirational projects to be shown in Kirklees.

In 2025 with the support of Kirklees Council, Arts Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority the festival was able to support a curated programme of installations and events, small grants for groups and individuals wanting to put on a WOVEN event, 4 WOVEN hubs, and 3 targeted interventions to support building new communities for the festival.

120 out of 130 events were community driven: an increase in community ownership of 182% over six years.
