The Big Knit Needs You!

A piece of crochet wrapped around a tree branch

Whether you want to start something in your local library, village hall or your front room, we would love to hear from you. We are inviting people all over Kirklees to take part in Worldwide Knit in Public Day, Saturday 8 June, by joining in with activities run by people from their local community.

The Big Knit is an opportunity to share skills, get creative and have a cuppa, no matter what your age or background. It will see the whole of Kirklees work together to decorate their local area with yarn bombing and have the opportunity to add to an impressive sculptural spectacle that will be revealed on Saturday 8 June at a secret location.

We need people to start knitting NOW! So get in touch if you are involved in a group, or would like to put in touch with one locally, that can get knitting and crocheting in preparation for the Big Knit day on Saturday 8 June.

We will be running an introductory workshop for those interested on the Saturday 4 May at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield.
