Even when there’s no big festival happening, there’s often lots of textile events happening across Kirklees.
Enjoying the Community Garden Space we will forage for the leaves, grasses & flowers abundant in the garden at this time.
Using our finds we will explore the Japanese Art of transferring botanical dyes from flowers and leaves onto fabric known as Takaki Zome, or flower pounding, to create botanical prints for a family string of bunting.
The workshop will include floral biscuits and flower cordial.
The event is free, but donations are welcome.
This event is part of the WOVEN community programme. If you have any questions please contact Earth Felt or New Mill Community Garden directly.
