Textile artist/makers needed for Spectacular Showcase of Textile Innovation

Close up of a bale of waste textile materials

The WOVEN programme includes a Spectacular Showcase of Textile Innovation, taking place at the University of Huddersfield on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 June.

As part of this event we are keen to include artists and makers who are using innovative techniques in their practice. This might include up-cycling and innovative re-use, use of a new or innovative textile or an innovative use of more traditional textiles in your artistic practice.

This is a paid opportunity and we envisage it including some (though not necessarily all) of the activities below:

  • Opportunities for the public to meet you as makers and watch demonstrations of techniques.
  • Making workshops: 30 minute quick make and take activities, as well as an hour long bookable workshops to make something more substantial. Family orientated fashion workshops, quick makes and up-cycling.
  • Talks about life as an artist/designer/maker.

If this sounds like something you can contribute to please get in touch with a brief description of your practice and a link to your website.
