International Knit in Public Day Needs You

International Knit in Public Day is coming to Dewsbury on 13th June 2026.

We need your help to make this an extra special day for the knitting and crochet community and for all those who want to give it a go!

On the day

The event will run from 11am–3pm, and you’re invited to join us for a knit social. You can learn about projects you can get involved in, take part in our blanket knitting and crochet circle, and much more.

Before the event

If you’d like to help make the event happen and have some time to spare, we’d love you to knit a square or two so we can yarn bomb Dewsbury and brighten the place for the day.

If you have a project you’d like to share, why not host a stall where you can tell people all about it, recruit new makers, and show just how great knitting projects can be.

If you know of a charity or project that is looking for knitted items, please let us know — or ask them to get in touch directly.

You can also volunteer on the day to help with the yarn bombing.

This is a community effort and everyone is welcome.
