Even when there’s no big festival happening, there’s often lots of textile events happening across Kirklees.
An exhibition incorporating the stories of natural and synthetic dyestuffs in Huddersfield. It demonstrates the vast varieties of colour achieved from our Colour Garden and gives a historical background to these dyes, highlighting the local access to dyestuffs and local dyers who lived in Nineteenth Century Huddersfield.
The exhibition is located in the Living History museum, Colne Valley Museum, and aims to inspire and gather everyone’s thoughts and memories about dyeing in Huddersfield.
Open 12 noon to 4pm every Saturday and Sunday, as well as Bank Holiday Mondays. £3 entrance for the museum for adults, children under 16 and museum members go free.
This event is part of the WOVEN community programme. If you have any questions please contact Colne Valley Museum directly.
