After the success of World Stitch Day at WOVEN 2025 we’re back this year.

Save the date for this vibrant celebration of the universal language of stitch and textiles!

This immersive event brings together community groups, expert stitchers, and textile enthusiasts to explore the rich tapestry of global embroidery and stitch.

With exhibitions, displays, stalls plus an opportunity to make a patch of for the Kirklees Calico Dress.

Accessibility Information
Both onsite car parks have disabled spaces. The ground floor is fully accessible, but due to the historic building, access for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues cannot be provided to upper floor. Stairs, low doorways and uneven surfaces may also limit access. There is a Large-print guide available. There is access to gardens via ramps for mobility scooter and wheelchair users. For access to the Park there is an Easier Access Map for low gradient routes without steps available. Fully accessible toilets are available in the Visitor Centre.
Transport Information
By train: The nearest National Rail station is Batley Railway Station. By bus: The 180 and 229 run between Leeds and Huddersfield. There is a stop at Birstall market place which is a moderate 1 mile walk to the museum. By car: On Nutter Lane in Birstall. Please use postcode WF17 9LG for Sat Navs.
