Locker hooking is a rag rugging technique that originated in England in the early 1900s. It uses long strips of fabric, mesh and a tool like a crochet hook with a needle end. A inner cord locks in pulled through hoops meaning they can’t be pulled out again. This technique is addictive and has a more linear, uniform look than other loopy rag rug techniques.
Tutor Kim Searle runs workshops with a focus on upcycling, community and fun as Darn It! Workshops. She also co runs Textile Reuse Hub Thread Republic.
