Kirklees Quilts for Care Leavers Open Day

The Q4CLs project provides handmade quilt ‘hugs’ for young people aged between 18 and 24 who are living independently after their time in care of the Local Authority has come to an end.

The quilts have been made to promote wellbeing and show these young people they are not alone and that someone cares.

The makers of these quilts get a great deal of satisfaction as they are doing something they love at the same time as showing support and understanding for these young people as they begin a new stage in their lives.

We see these quilts as lovingly handmade ‘HUGS’.
