Even when there’s no big festival happening, there’s often lots of textile events happening across Kirklees.
Are you dreaming of using your machine to draw with, to create pictures in fabric? Then this workshop is for you!
Perhaps you tried it years ago, but your project ended up in a bag behind the sofa… and now you feel ready to get started again with some help. Well Eco Hub is here to help!
What you will learn:
– Equipment essentials: darning foot
– How to attach the foot to your machine
– Maintaining an even tension
– How to drop the feet and what this means
– Starting to sew
– Finishing off your final 3D picture
Refreshments, materials and a machine (if needed) will be provided.
Please bring a notebook and pen if you wish to jot down ideas. Although fabrics are provided you are welcome to bring some of your own if you wish. You are welcome to bring your own machine, but before doing this you need to check that you have a darning foot and that your teeth drop. If you need to ask about this please do drop us a message.
This event is part of the WOVEN community programme. If you have any questions please contact Eco Hub directly.
