Get Inspired with Sewing in the Classroom!

Join us for a fun and creative session where you can:

-Discover the incredible Red Dress Project coming to Oakwell Hall
-Hear how schools have brought stitching to life with primary pupils
-Get hands-on tips and ideas from talented WOVEN artists

Whether you’re a sewing pro or just starting out, this session is packed with inspiration to spark creativity in your classroom and is for all teachers of every key stage and educators

Accessibility Information
Both onsite car parks have disabled spaces. The ground floor is fully accessible, but due to the historic building, access for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues cannot be provided to upper floor. Stairs, low doorways and uneven surfaces may also limit access. There is a Large-print guide available. There is access to gardens via ramps for mobility scooter and wheelchair users. For access to the Park there is an Easier Access Map for low gradient routes without steps available. Fully accessible toilets are available in the Visitor Centre.

By train: The nearest National Rail station is Batley Railway Station. By bus: The 180 and 229 run between Leeds and Huddersfield. There is a stop at Birstall market place which is a moderate 1 mile walk to the museum. By car: On Nutter Lane in Birstall. Please use postcode WF17 9LG for Sat Navs.
