A montage of images of the calico dress and patch making

Sunny Bank Mills’ annual Threads Textile Festival is back for its fourth year – celebrating textiles through a series of talks, workshops and a market featuring 50+ textile stalls.

We’ll be showcasing the Calico Dress as part of this year’s festival at Sunny Bank Mills Museum & Archive!

It’s your chance to see the dress on display, you can also find out more about the project and have a go at creating your own textile patch to be part of the dress – patch making is open to everyone, no experience necessary, with our friendly helpers on hand to guide you.

Plus there’s lot’s more going on at the festival for you to explore, including the museum’s Dyevolution project– an inspiring three-year journey into colour, cloth, and collaboration, with live dyeing demonstrations, natural materials and more.

Textile Market £4 entry on the door (carers & under 12s free) – no prebooking required.

Workshop tickets on sale in late April via the Sunny Bank Mills website.
