ABOUT: Art is a vibrant and multifaceted language that allows creative exploration to understand ourselves and the world around us. As an Arts Facilitator, I find great joy in my role, collaborating with individuals of all ages and abilities and engaging with them in diverse environments, from community workshops to intimate gatherings. This joy fuels my passion and dedication to the transformative power of art in education.
TEXTILE PRACTICE: I studied Surface Pattern and Fashion Textile design, specialising in Silkscreen printing for textiles and worked at various levels of the Textile industry in design and construction. I developed these skills and worked in television, commercial, and community theatre, making costumes, costume props, and scenery.
In collaboration with the above, I work as a Community Artist, devising and delivering creative workshops to people of all ages and abilities according to a bespoke brief or an educational curriculum requirement.
Primarily, I use printmaking as a creative process, majoring in screen printing utilising the ultraviolet, paper stencil and mono printing processes. I also work with relief printing using lino, safe print, mono and dry point Each of these processes offers unique opportunities for creative expression and learning, and I incorporate them into my workshops to provide a rich and varied experience for participants.
