After the fantastic response to World Stitch Day at WOVEN 2025, we’re delighted to bring this event back to Kirklees in 2026.

World Stitch Day marks one year to WOVEN 2027, and brings together community groups, skilled makers, and textile enthusiasts to celebrate the universal language of stitch across cultures, traditions, and techniques.

We are inviting stallholders, demonstrators, and makers whose work explores:

  • Traditional or contemporary techniques of world stitch
  • Global textile heritage and cultural storytelling
  • Thoughtfully made, stitch-led retail products
  • Live demonstrations or participatory approaches that invite conversation

This is a chance to:

  • Share your story and craft with an engaged, curious audience
  • Be part of a high-profile event connected to WOVEN
  • Sell your work, demonstrate your skills, and connect with fellow practitioners

Whether you work with embroidery, weaving, quilting, mending, pattern, or cross-cultural textile traditions, we’d love to hear from you.

Application deadline: Monday 20th April

World Stitch Day takes place on Sunday 7th June at Oakwell Hall
