On the 8th of June 2019, people all over Kirklees will be celebrating Worldwide Knit in Public Day with THE BIG KNIT.
The Big Knit is an opportunity for us all to share skills, get creative and have a cuppa, by joining in with events run in our local area.
It will see the whole of Kirklees work together to make impressive knitted creations called yarn bombs, that will fill the streets with colour.
Have a look at Gill Bond’s video opposite to get you started with some top yarn-bombing tips.
The whole day will be a celebration of the waterways of Yorkshire, with a collaborative centrepiece In Batley that will be created with the support of Connor Shields (YSP resident artist) so grab your blue wool and get stuck in.
Have a look at Connor’s video opposite and download his flyer for more information about helping to create the centrepiece
Want to take part? We’d love for you to join in. Whether you want to start something in your local library, village hall or your front room, we would love to hear from you.
