Dye Garden Tour

Join local artist Isobel Denton @abitmoreink for a tour of her natural dye garden.

Isobel is a freelance textile practitioner working under the name of ‘abitmoreink’ specialising in traditional and heritage craft practices particularly focusing on creating natural inks and dyes for textile and paper application. She has created her own colour dye garden with specialist plants which she uses in her practice.

During this session you will be guided through a relaxing tour of her natural dye garden, learn about the plants she grows, how she grows them, their life cycle and colour pigment properties for natural dyes. Become inspired and explore the possibilities of growing your own dye garden. We will explore her textile studio and her artwork. There will be dye plants and bundle dye kits for sale.

Sign up to one of the open garden slots during the day and come along to learn more about natural dyes, explore the plants she grows and their natural dye properties.

Accessibility Information
The studio and dye garden can be accessed from main roads by wheelchair, support from WOVEN volunteers will be available on the day if needed. There are clear paths around the garden beds. There is no disabled parking but the main road parking is next to the gate entrance to the dye garden. The entrance to the dye garden requires crossing a small field, weather conditions may change the ground conditions. Volunteers will be on hand for directions and support.
Transport Information
The dye garden can be accessed just off Marsh Hall lane before Town Moor road, there will X2 WOVEN banners located on the main road and a volunteer to look out for. You can park along the main road HD46XB. Marsh Hall Ln Hall Ing Lane is the closest bus stop and Stocksmoor is the closest train station.
