This workshop will be lead by artist Michaela Lesayova. Michaela’s art practice closely engages her ongoing relationship with plants, flowers, soil and exploring ways to co-create art with humans and the environment around her. Michaela’s medium is natural colour which she gives life to through naturally dyeing fibres and experimenting with natural inks.
Come along and learn how to bundle dye using natural pigments from the Birkby and Fartown Library dye Garden. Use flowers to create colour on textiles, meet others and learn how to work with textiles.
The second part of the session will be led by embroidery artist Elnaz Yazdani, and will explore some simple embroidery stitches, including hand stitch methods to embed dried flowers and materials from the garden onto naturally dyed fabrics.
This workshop is a women only session.
