SUMMARY:WI Flockton's Textile Woodland Installation
DESCRIPTION:Since the beginning of the year Flockton WI ladies have been working with the community to create a wonderfully wide variety of leaves\, soft mosses\, beautiful ferns and enchanting woodland creatures. \nAll the items have been produced using textile skills such as crochet\, knitting\, embroidery and needle felting cumulating into an interactive display for all ages. \nFollow a short woolly woodland trail\, admiring the overhanging ferns and mossy undergrowth whilst looking out for the hidden creatures who fill the enchanted forest. \nThe installation will also be on display in the church grounds until the end of June 2025 \nThis event is part of the WOVEN community programme. \nFree to attend. No booking required.

SUMMARY:Knitted Village
DESCRIPTION:Members of Flockton WI have worked together to make a large representation of the village in yarn. Needles and hooks were put into action back in 2019 but then paused during the pandemic so the majority of the work has been done since January 2023. The charm of the work comes from the fact that the buildings and features have all been designed from photographs by the makers themselves and are\, therefore\, very individual in style. \nThe hanging\, approximately 2.5 metres by 1.25 metres\, will be on display outside the church 24/7 for the duration of the festival. \nTwo colour garden planters and crochet flowers will enhance the display which will be visible from the main road.

DESCRIPTION:A knit and natter for the community run by Flockton WI will be held on Saturday June 10th from 1-4pm. \nCome along with your own project\, perhaps one that you need a little bit of help with. Or how about helping us by knitting or crocheting a square for our blanket and scarves for the needy? Yarn and needles will be available for use on the day. \nCan’t knit or crochet? Then there will be people able to help with basic knitting or crochet skills. \nEveryone is welcome but children must be accompanied. Free entry.
