DESCRIPTION:Organised by Friends of Skelmanthorpe Library the community quilt\, with contributions from all parts of Denby Dale Parish Council area\, will be on display in the Council Offices throughout WOVEN. Outside the building you can also see a Field of Flowers\, made by local residents whilst inside you’ll find a Textile Heritage display of naturally-dyed materials and demonstrations of recycling remaking and mending. \nThis event is part of the WOVEN community programme. \nFree to attend. DESCRIPTION:A display of natural dyeing on fabric\, fleece and yarn. \nThe display will explain the dye-making process and show the results on fabric\, yarn and fleece. It will show what can be obtained from garden plants\, from foraged materials in the local environment and from kitchen supplies. \nThe examples of yarn and fabric will demonstrate the ratings of colour that can be achieved and also explain the various processes. \nOpen Monday 10am-1pm\, Wednesday 10am-6pm\, Thursday 10am-1pm\, Friday 10-12\, Saturday 10-12 \nThe following workshops and events are also taking place: \nFri 9 June\, 10am-3.30pm: Natural Dye Workshop\nLocation: TBC\nCost: £10.00 – email Nicky Ryden to book your place\n\nSat 10 June\, 10.30 – 1pm: Flower hammering\, yarn wrapping and crochet.\nLocation: Skelmanthorpe Library\nCost: Free\n\nMon 12 June\, 10.30-12noon: Coffee Plus – ‘A journey through colour’\n\nLocation: Skelmanthorpe Library\nCost: Free\n\n\nWed 14 June\, 11am-5.30pm: Weaving Day\nHave a go at using simple looms\, recycled and natural dyed yarns and fabrics.
