DESCRIPTION:Have you enjoyed taking part in the WOVEN 2023 Growing Colour Together project? We would love to hear from you. Join us in Dewsbury for an evaluation and debrief session with the WOVEN team and community. We will use the time to check in with the community\, find out how things have gone on the project and gather important feedback which will help us moving forward. \nWe will also chat about legacy and what the Growing Colour Together project has left the community and how you might take this forward. SUMMARY:Community Growing Colour Together Project (Dewsbury)
DESCRIPTION:Growing Colour Together is more than a project\, it’s a MOVEMENT! And our ambition is to create a district-wide\, natural dye colour garden! Working in partnership across the district we want to give everyone the opportunity to ‘have a grow\,’ use what’s grown to make natural dyes\, and learn about the environmental implications of chemical dyes and what we buy. \nWOVEN in Kirklees has been supported by funding from Arts Council England and Kirklees Council to support the development of work in three areas of Kirklees. Each area will work with artists in collaboration to develop knowledge and understanding of art and nature\, with a focus on natural dyes. \nYour artists will put the community central to the project and work with you to develop an outcome for the WOVEN 2023 festival. Together you will explore themes of nature\, textiles\, climate change and wellbeing. \nThese sessions are suitable for adults with a particular focus on inviting women and girls in the community to take part and explore the wellbeing benefits of working with natural dyes\, the land and materials. If you have children with you\, they must be over the age of 5 and be accompanied by an adult at all times. \nCome along and join your artists for these creative natural dye sessions. Taking place in Dewsbury on Wednesdays at Crow Nest Adventure Play Area in Crow Nest Park between now and the WOVEN festival\, find out about the project\, share your ideas and learn how to get involved. \nBOOK YOUR PLACE

DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to share with you our collaborative textile installation Roving Lands which will be taking over Crow Nest Park Wildflower Garden for one day only. \nAll over Kirklees natural dye gardens are being formed\, with artists from Growing Colour Together & local communities creating colour gardens for all. \nArtists Jane Howroyd\, Natalie Linney & Waheeda Kothdiwala have been working in Dewsbury with local people to produce the textile installation exhibited today. Paving its way around the walled wildflower garden\, Roving Lands encompasses over one hundred textile pieces each individually designed to represent personal journeys through natural spaces. \nBOOK YOUR PLACE
