Even when there’s no big festival happening, there’s often lots of textile events happening across Kirklees.
A 2-part workshop to create a hand-built ceramic pot and macrame plant hanger.
In Week 1 (3rd June) we will be creating the pot by pinching, forming and adding texture and a choice of coloured and textured clays. Choose one and option to add a glaze colour surface. Pots will be fired ready for Week 2
In Week 2 (10th June) join talented textile artist Kim Searle to make macramé plant hangers from a variety of cords and recycled t-shirts. It’s the perfect craft for anyone whose window ledges are overflowing with plants! You’ll learn all the macramé knots you’ll need to make a variety of different designs and you should leave with one finished piece and a few instruction sheets to make more at home. During the workshop you’ll get to choose your own colour and style of cord to work with the style of plant hanger to suit your pot.
This event is part of the WOVEN community programme. If you have any questions please contact The Clay Mill directly.
