Even when there’s no big festival happening, there’s often lots of textile events happening across Kirklees.

Join us once a month on Tuesdays through 2023 for a series of home school workshops, looking at how natural inks and stains can be used creatively to learn about art, science and history.
You can choose to book on all or only one of the sessions:
1. Anthotype photography. Discover some of the first types of photography by creating prints from the sun and natural stains.
2. Learn how to make your own paint brushes from natural materials and use them with inks made from plants that were used in medieval times.
3. Create your own ink from plants and see how it looks when used on paper and fabric.
4. Investigate science by learning about acids and bases using a natural Ph indicator, including experimenting on fabric and paper.
