|Recurring Event (See all)

One event on June 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm

Julie Batley of TEAZLE will be demonstrating how to make a stylish Liberty fabric flower corsage in our Victorian kitchen. There will also be an opportunity to buy some of the lovely TEAZLE items hand crafted by Julie.

Colne Valley Museum is housed in a row of weaver’s cottages built in the 1840s, and depicts the life of a handloom weaver in Victorian times. Volunteers will be demonstrating weaving and spinning as well as other traditional crafts. We make items such as handbags, purses and cushion covers from our handwoven fabric, available from our shop, as well as beginner’s craft kits to make a rag rug, weaving and pom pom kits.

Open during WOVEN on Saturdays and Sundays 8th/9th and 15th/16th June from 2pm-5pm

There is a modest admission charge which is made to ensure the sustainability of this independently run museum, which receives no core funding from any organisation.
